Guidelines for writing a letter of intent / statement of purpose:

We ask for a letter of intent in order to know about your interests in sociology and our program, along with your qualifications and readiness for a graduate study in sociology. You can use the questions below as the guidelines to write your letter of intent:


What is your general area of interest and the topic that you want to study in our graduate program? What is the broader sociological relevance of this topic?


What is your personal and educational background that led you towards this topic that you want to pursue in your graduate studies?


Why are you interested in our graduate program? Why do you think our program would fit your research interests?


* Your letter should not exceed 1000 words (written in Times New Roman, 12 font, single space format.)


* Please do not ask the faculty members for help in writing your letter of intent
