Course ContentThe study of competing schools with divergent interests and perspectives; mathematical sociology, early functionalism, sociometry, philosophical sociology, sociology of knowledge, neopositivism, systematic sociology. Critical examination of a wide range of scholars and their works, Lundserg, Cooley, McIver, Gurvitch, Sorokin, Ogburn, Mannheim, Moreno. Particular emphasis is laid on early social anthropologists such as Malinowski, Radcliffe Brown and E. Pritchard.
